FAQs
What are the Differences Between the Cransten Full Service and the Cransten DIY Plans?
The Cransten Full Service plan allows our customers to have their equipment fully warranted for replacement of equipment down the road. It also factors in the cost of ongoing maintenance and customer support.
Most other alarm and smart home companies will charge a “Trip Fee” to send a service technician to your home. We, however, will not charge you as this is covered under the full service plan.
The Cransten DIY plan is designed for those people who like to handle customer service and repairs themselves. The equipment would not be covered for any replacements outside of standard manufacturers warrantees. All ongoing repairs and servicing will be handled by the customer themselves. This allows us to offer our platform at a reduced rate to our customers.
Can My Life Alert Be Portable?
Yes, there is a portable life alert option. You are able to take your life alert with you wherever you have cell service and we will be able to Geo-Locate and send emergency dispatchers to wherever you are located.
What is the Difference Between a Standard Smoke Detector and a Cransten Smart Smoke Detector?
Regular smoke detectors just beep within a house. No one is alerted or notified. The problem is if you are asleep or if you are not home, most neighbors will not realize the house is on fire until flames are leaving the roof. The good things is with the monitored smoke detectors is that as soon as a fire starts our dispatchers and local fire department are alerted almost immediately. As a result, the average turn around time is about 20 minutes fasters giving them enough time to save most, if not the entire house, animal lives, potentially even family members lives as many times we are knocked out during a fire.
What is Included with My Lifetime of Service Warrantee?
By being on the Cransten Full-Service Plan ($39.99 a month once equipment is paid off), you will have all ongoing trip fees and equipment replacement fees waived.
What is Cransten’s Free Move Policy?
You can either leave the system at your existing home and let the new homeowner take over the system. Or we will come out, uninstall the system and install a new one in your new home at no cost. Pretty easy.
What if Cransten Does Not Have Technicians in An Area?
Cransten currently has technicians and serviceability in UT, AZ, ID, and NM. However, if you live outside of one of our coverage areas, we are more than happy to work with our customers on a DIY/Self-Install basis.
What if I Have An Existing System? Can the Cransten System Take That System Over?
Yes, the Cransten equipment an app is compatible with most all systems in the market. The only equipment we are not compatible with is Xfinity, Simplisafe, and a few random off brands. All other systems are fully compatible. We can swap out the old equipment with the Cransten panel, tie into what you have, and add whatever extra equipment you would like without having to lose any of your old equipment. Pretty awesome!
Will My Previous Company Come Back For Their Equipment?
Almost no companies anymore come back for their equipment. If you have any questions, email us at hello@cransten.com and we can specify if your company would come back for their equipment or not.
